A George VI sterling silver christening cup or small mug, hallmarked Birmingham, 1938, by A. L. Davenport Ltd. This piece features a tapered cylindrical body with a clean, polished finish and is fitted with a substantial, heavy-gauge D-shaped handle characteristic of late Art Deco design. The hallmarks are struck to the side near the handle and remain crisp and well-defined.
