A fine late Victorian sterling silver sweetmeat dish by William Devenport, hallmarked Birmingham, 1897. This highly decorative circular dish features alternating panels of intricate pierced lattice work and ornate repoussé floral scrolls punctuated by shell motifs. The piece is finished with a wavy, crimped rim and is raised on three original ball feet. An excellent example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, showcasing the exuberant style of the Diamond Jubilee era.
