It quickly gained favour among the Pan-Am executives and the business jet-set community as a whole. Offered continuously since its introduction with relatively little modification it is perhaps, along with the Submariner, the most classic Rolex 'tool' watch made. The reference 16710 was launched in 1989 replacing the reference 16760. The new model boasted a slimmer case design and was offered with three different bezels, red and black, red and blue and all black as featured on this example.
