A fine mid-century Persian silver cigarette box, Iran, circa 1950. The rectangular box features masterful Ghalam-Zani hand-engraving, with the lid centered by a radiating sunburst rosette amidst a dense field of intricate floral scrolls and foliate motifs. The craftsmanship extends to the side panels, bordered by repeating geometric patterns. The interior is struck with the '84' purity mark and a master silversmith's signature. A superb example of Isfahan metalwork from the Pahlavi period.
